Digi Toll Roads — Your Guide to Romanian Toll Roads

An electronic vignette (E-Vignette) is a digital road tax that allows you to use Romania's national roads. It replaces the physical sticker and is linked to your vehicle's license plate. You can purchase it online, through mobile apps, or at authorized points of sale.

You can pay tolls in Romania through several methods: purchasing an electronic vignette online, using the official mobile application, buying at physical points of sale (gas stations, post offices), or through the Digi Pay portal for certain vehicle categories.

All vehicles with a maximum authorized mass of up to 3.5 tons need a vignette to use Romania's national roads. This includes cars, motorcycles, campers, and small vans. Vehicles over 3.5 tons use a different electronic toll collection system.

Vignettes are available for different durations: 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or 12 months. The validity period starts from the date and time of purchase specified during the transaction.

Driving without a valid vignette on Romanian national roads can result in significant fines. The Romanian traffic police regularly check vehicles, and there are electronic surveillance systems in place to detect violations.
